From production scraps to new components
Discover how Armal recovers polyethylene production scraps and reuses recovered polymers in selected components of its portable restrooms. At Armal, production scraps from the injection moulding of portable restrooms are recovered and reused in selected manufacturing processes.
During injection moulding, virgin polyethylene scraps are generated as part of the production process. Most of these scraps are collected, ground and reintroduced into production as recovered material.
In 2025, recovered polymers accounted for 13% of the materials used in Armal’s production.
Recovered material is used in selected black components. Depending on the technical and structural requirements of each part, it can account for 50% to 100% of the material used to manufacture these components.
The percentage varies according to the specific technical and structural requirements of each component.
Regular quality checks are carried out throughout the process to verify that the recovered material meets the required production specifications.
Through this process, selected polyethylene production scraps are reintroduced into Armal’s manufacturing cycle and used to produce new components.
